These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Baltimore Injury Center patient portal, website, and communication services, including SMS text messaging. By using our services or providing your consent, you agree to these Terms.
1. Use of the Patient Portal
The patient portal is provided to help patients schedule appointments, communicate with our staff, and manage information related to their care. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. The portal is not for medical emergencies — if you have a medical emergency, call 911.
2. SMS / Text Messaging Program
If you opt in, Baltimore Injury Center will send you SMS text messages related to your care. This is a customer care messaging program — we use it to improve patient communication, reduce missed appointments, and provide timely updates related to your healthcare services. Messages are sent from our number, (443) 998-8887.
- What you will receive: appointment reminders, scheduling and confirmation messages, and updates related to your visits and care. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
- Consent: By providing your mobile number and checking the consent box during intake (or replying to confirm), you expressly agree to receive these SMS text messages from Baltimore Injury Center. Consent is not a condition of receiving treatment.
- Message frequency varies based on your appointments and care.
- Message and data rates may apply. Rates are charged by your wireless carrier and are your responsibility. Contact your carrier for details about your plan.
- Opt out: Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from all future messages. We will send a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed.
- Help: Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at (443) 998-8887 or webadmin@bicportals.com.
- Carriers: Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
2a. How You Opt In
Patients enter their mobile phone number on our
patient registration form or
appointment request form and must actively check an unchecked consent box before submitting the form. The consent language clearly describes the types of messages you will receive, the message frequency disclosure, the STOP/HELP instructions, and states that consent is not required to receive medical services. Consent records are retained within our systems.
The consent checkbox reads:
"I agree to receive text messages from Baltimore Injury Center regarding appointment reminders, scheduling updates, and other healthcare-related notifications at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance. Consent is not a condition of receiving medical services."
By submitting the form with this box checked, you consent to receive SMS communications from Baltimore Injury Center related to your healthcare services. Your information will be handled in accordance with our
Privacy Policy. You may opt out at any time by replying
STOP.
3. Privacy
Your information is handled in accordance with our
Privacy Policy and our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
4. No Medical Advice via Messaging
Text messages and portal communications are for scheduling and administrative purposes and do not constitute medical advice. Always speak with your provider regarding medical decisions.
5. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
